Be warned, I am not looking to make any crappy independent band my best friend. I am taking recommendations from people with good taste who have the common sense to seek out great music without it being spoon fed to them through the homogenized major label system. Only great stuff that I am proud to associate with will make the cut…. it can be anyone – you can be 13 year old lebanese dwarf polka hiphop, if you connect with me through your music I would love to feature you to my music mad crowd.

#1 piece of not so obvious advice to independent artists

DONT TRUST MYSPACE or frankly any of those sites. For the price of a couple movie tickets a month, join a site like “Bandzoogle” (thats who I go with but i’m sure there are others) and get a website with a mailing list built in so you can collect actual email addresses and remain in touch when those other sites have bitten the dust.
